Details for the 2025 special collection events here. A few things to note this year:
- Online registration will be available for all events, except the Household Hazardous Waste Events. Links for online registration and a contact number will be provided once the registration period opens. Please note that registration for many of our events fills quickly.
- All of our events are open to Ontario County residents only and all residentially generated material will be accepted at no charge again this year
- There are programs for free and convenient collection of paint, stains, and primers and electronic waste through drop-off locations located throughout the county and open year round. We are still accepting these materials at their dedicated collection events, but there is no need to wait. Click the links above for more information and a list of drop off locations.
- NEW 2025: Freon Containing Appliance Recycling Event - we will be accepting residential small appliances that contain freon including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. Registration will be limited for this pilot event.
- We will also be holding another Rigid Plastics Recycling Event again this year. Rigid plastics are large, bulky materials that cannot be recycled with your household recycling. They include five gallon buckets, outdoor furniture, playsets, laundry baskets, storage totes, toys, baby gear, food storage containers, trash cans, and similar materials. All materials must be CLEAN. Materials cannot contain debris, excessive dirt, or any chemical residues. Larger items should be disassembled so that they can be handled appropriately.
Please contact us at recycle@ontariocountyny.gov with any questions. We look forward to seeing you this year!
